The Gilda Ibarra Lozano Scholarship will be awarded to a Mt. Eden High School graduating senior in the amount of $1,500.

Qualifications:

• First generation college student.

• Demonstrated financial need.

• Minimum GPA of 3.75 or higher (weighted or unweighted).

• Involvement in extracurricular school and/or local community activities.

• Pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) at a California State University or University of California school.

Required Documentation:

• Completed Application form (Google Form).

• Personal Essay - include challenges or obstacles you have faced or overcome, and how these experiences have shaped your goals, values or perspective (Minimum 500 words).

• 3 Letters of recommendation (2 must come from a teacher).

• Most recent high school transcript.

The scholarship award recipient will be named during Mt. Eden HS Senior Awards Night 2026 (TBD).  The awardee will 1) send proof of college registration and 2) college Financial Aid and/or Accounting address information to LozanoScholarshipMEHS@gmail.com by July 31, 2026, failure to send appropriate documentation by July 31, 2026, may result in the student forfeiting their scholarship.
